Everyone Goes Home Fundraiser

911 Safety Equipment is working with Everyone Goes Home Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives program, which is made possible through the efforts of the National Firefighters Foundation with funding provided my the Department of Homeland Security, Assistance to Firefighters Grant and the generosity of Fireman’s Fun Insurance Company.

The fundraiser includes Everyone Goes Home wristbands that are being sold for $5.00 an can be ordered through the 911 Safety Equipment website or the Everyone Goes Home website. Monies raised go directly to firefighters that lose their lives in the line of duty.

Every year approximately 100 firefighters lose their lives in the line of duty in the United States, or one every 80 hours. In addition, the National Fire Protection Association cites more than 80,000 firefighter injuries annually. Firefighter injuries and death rates have remained relatively constant over the past several years, despite monumental improvements in technology and equipment.

The Everyone Goes Home Program provides free training, resources and programs to champion and implement the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. Crohn’s & Colitis Walk

Along with Dan Silvestri, daughters Stacey and Alexandra, and friend of the family Dana walked in the Crohn’s and Colitis Walk in Philadelphia this past Saturday morning. At 80 walk sites across the country, thousands of people will gather this spring and summer to join the fight against digestive diseases. These walks raise money for important research and raise awareness of two painful and unpredictable diseases that afflict millions of people.

In its inaugural year, over 30,000 participants walked and together raised over $6 million dollars towards our mission.  The goal is even higher in 2009. Philadelphia was the top walk site in the country last year raising over $340,000. The passion and commitment that was demonstrated by the 150 teams was not to be believed. Tornado warnings couldn’t even stop families, friends and co-workers from walking in an effort to raise money to find the cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. One in every 200 people suffer daily with these digestive diseases.

The 3 mile walk took place along Martin Luther King Drive and consistd of fun for the entire family including live music, food and games. For additional information about Crohn’s Disease, Colitis as well as the walk please visit www.ccfa.org.

Donation to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America

911 Safety Equipment made a donation to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Over 1.4 million Americans suffer from Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease.

All monies raised go towards the development of promising new medications. Scientists still do not know the cause of of the disease so developing a cure has been quite difficult. Our donation will help fund critical research for improving the treatment and finding a cure for IBD. It will also support programs for those who live with these diseases every day.
